A Flappy Clone is a term used to describe a mobile game that functions as normal Flappy Bird, but is retextured (different graphics) or has new sound effects, which makes them seem a little on the "bootleg" side of gaming. Since the removal of the original Flappy Bird in 2014, there have been an increase of these clone games on the Apple App Store and Google Play (most of them came out during 2016 - 2018). There can be subtle changes to the game like Splashy Fish, complete revamps, like FlapMMO and Flappy Bird 3D, or parody games like Squishy Bird and Noscope Flappy.
